The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research leads the development of Iraq’s higher education and scientific research ecosystem. It oversees universities and academic institutions, supports scientific and technical advancement, develops academic and research policies, and promotes scientific and cultural cooperation with universities, research institutions, and international organizations. The Ministry also works to strengthen the role of education and research in national development and the knowledge economy.
