The General Directorate of Traffic operates under the Police Affairs Agency of Iraq’s Ministry of Interior. It is responsible for regulating road traffic, vehicle registration, driving licences, traffic law enforcement, road safety, and traffic awareness. The Directorate also advances digital transformation through smart traffic services that enable citizens to access vehicle information, apply for services, and manage traffic-related payments electronically.
