The Communications and Media Commission of Iraq (CMC) is an independent regulatory authority responsible for regulating and developing the media, telecommunications, information technology, and digital services sectors in Iraq. Its responsibilities include telecommunications regulation, spectrum management, licensing, media regulation, consumer protection, digital services governance, and the development of regulatory frameworks aligned with international standards. The Commission plays a central role in supporting Iraq’s digital ecosystem by promoting competition, improving service quality, protecting consumer rights, regulating emerging digital services, and enabling the sustainable development of communications and technology infrastructure across the country.
